Attention, Attunement and Access: Queer, trans* and neurodivergent perspectives on listening in the field

Experimental performance-dialogue, 90 minutes

The fifth and final event in the Audition series featured an experimental, performative dialogue between Amias Hanley and Kirby Fary (Local Time). Fusing and fragmenting modes of critical practice—such as field recording, browser interaction, and autotheory—Audition #5 explored intersections of failure, distraction, (in)visibility, gender, paranoia, and embodied experiences of fieldwork.

Audition was a five-part series for sonic research and practice, developed by researchers and artists at three RMIT University labs: Sound Art & Auditory Culture, Screen and Sound Cultures, and Design & Sonic Practice. Each event was convened by a different group member, exploring diverse approaches to sonic inquiry across Melbourne Naarm, AU.
